PURPOSE:To provide a covalent bonding polymer metal complex having specific two axially-coordinated groups, and useful as a catalyst for electron transfer, oxidation and reduction, adsorption and desorption of oxygen, etc. CONSTITUTION:A covalent bonding polymer metal complex having two axially coordinated groups, of the formula [A is a recurring unit containing three or more functional groups selected from a primary and a secondary amino and hydroxyl; B is a copolymerized recurring unit; m is a positive integer; n is 0 or a positive integer; X1 is II, III; X is residue obtained by reacting the functional group with carboxyl group of III; p is a ligand metal forming amide bonds with the group II in X1 and X, or a metal complex having the ion of the metal; R1 is group coordinated to the ligand metal; R2 is a coordinated group having weaker bond strength than R1]. The -(A)m-(B)n- is pref. a derivative of a polysaccharide containing amide groups, an aminomethylstyrene (derivative), etc.
