PURPOSE:To improve the toughness, by carrying out a specific heat treatment on hot rolled steel strip of high Cr ferrite stainless steel containing Mo. CONSTITUTION:Steel strip is manufactured by carrying out hot rolling of high Cr ferrite stainless steel containing Mo contained Cr; 25-31%, Mo;1-4%. Ni 0.60%, Nb; 0.05-0.40%, C+N0.015%. The above strip is cooled at cooling speed Vc or more calculated by the following formula from the following maintained temperature to 400 deg.C after maintaining at a temperature of 1000-1050 deg.C for 1-3 minuts. Vc( deg.C/min)=11.8X(Cr%+3XMo%)-220. Toughness of the strip is improved by the above heat treatment and crack generation at succeeding cold roolling time, is prevented.
