CONNECTION OF THE CIRCUIT OF THE GIVEN VALUE AT THE EXCITATION REGULATOR OF THE SYNCHRONNOUS ALTERNATORS

The reference voltage setting circuit is for the automatic excitation control of large synchronous generators. A signal proportional to the change in reference output (0) is applied to one input (VI) of an integrating store (1). The output voltage (0) is compared with the output of a digital to analog converter (7) in a differential network (2), whose output is fed to a change over control (3). If this error is greater than the insensitivity of the change over controller then the change-over switch (4) routes the error signal to the input of a polarity detector (5). An up or down counter (6) controls the output of the digital to analog converter (7) until the error is again within limits when the switch (4) returns to its normal position (X). A similar process follows the application of a + 10 volt signal to the second input (VII).
