An antibiotic called MM 13902 is obtained by fermentation of certain strains of Streptomyces olivaceus and related organisms, e.g. Streptomyces olivaceus ATCC 31226. Besides good antibiotic activity, the antibiotic displays a synergistic action with penicillins and cephalosporins.
