Wood preservative compsn. contains, as active ingredient, a mixt. of (A) (a) a benzimidazole carbamate of formula (I). (where R1 is 1-4C alkyl; R2 is H or -CONHR3, r3 is 1-12C alkyl, opt. Me-, Et-, MeO-M EtO-, NO2-, CN- or halogen -substd. Ph., opt. Me-, NO2-, MeO- or halogen-substd. benzyl; 7-8C opt. Me-substd. (cycloalkyl)-alkyl, opt. Me-substd. cyclohexyl, 3-10C alkenyl or 3-6C (alkoxycarbonyl)-alkyl); and/or (b) a phenylene-bis-thioallophanate of formula (II). (where R4 is Me or Et); and/or (c) a phenylene- bis-thioureidesalt of formula (III) (where R5 and R6 each is 1-6C alkyl or alkenyl; X is Cl, -NO2 or Me; n is 0 or 1 and M is Ca-, Ba-, or Cu); and (B) a benzoic acid anilide of formula (IV) (where R7 is halogen, Me, amino or -NO2). The compsn. is used for treating freshly felled or freshly sawn wood against attack by fungi, but may also be used for treating planks, boards and cut veners.
