Improved process for simultaneous electrolytic production of zinc metal and manganese dioxide characterized in that and admixture of zinc sulphide concentrates and manganese ores is leached with sulphuric acid or spent electrolyte to obtain a zinc suiphate and manganese sulphate solution, subjecting the solution to electrolysis in an electrolytic cell to obtain simultaneous deposition of high purity zinc metal on the cathode and batter active manganese dioxide on the anode and using the spent electrolyte for leaching of the ore-concentrate admixture.
