Yarn bobbin winding mechanism consisting of a stationary bobbin onto which a yarn is wound by means of a hollow rotating arm through which the yarn is fed is equipped with a compressed air connection by means of which a jet or air is introduced in the yarn duct so that the end of a new length of yarn presented to the open end of the duct is drawn in and passed through the rotating arm. The arm is attached to a hollow rotating shaft supported by two journal bearings. The air is introduced into an annular space between the shaft and the housing and flows from the annulus into the yarn duct via a hole in the shaft surface. Device eliminates the time and difficulty of manually threading the yarn into the winding mechanism.
