Transfer system for sand filler into gulley - by heaping sand on inclined porous layer at edge, then pump water into layer so heap slides into gulley

The system is used for transferring fill-in material, such as sand (8), into a channel, gulley or water course. A large amt. of this material is formed into a heap (3) having first provided a perforated tube (6) embedded in a layer of sand (5) at the base of the heap and downwardly inclined towards the gulley. Water is then forced into this layer, which reduces the shear resistance so that the heap slides down into the gulley. A non-porous layer (4, 7) such as clay or plastic foil may be placed above and/or below the layer (5).
