The installation is for the control of flags used on official, sports and festive occasions, so as to ensure that they are waving fully when required. A hollow flag mast is used inside which is a pressure pipe. At the top end of the mast, the pipe evolves into a number of branches ending in venturi-type outflow apertures. By adjustment of the dia. of these apertures the outflow speed of the emerging air is balanced, and the holes themselves are located on opposite sides of the flag hoisting rope. Inside the mast at the bottom is a buffer pressure container for feeding air along the pipe. Alternatively, when many flags on independent masts are involved, it is possible to couple all their pressure pipes to a common air compressor.
