A base insulator mounted wire-carrier for continuous conduits or for sectioned conduits is used and the support point for the carrier lies on the perpendicular central axis of the base insulator. The distance of the centre axis of the conduit from the base insulator is made as small as possible. The continuous conduit is provided with a relatively short bore, made some 4% to 5% larger than the outer diameter of conduit itself, (10) and running in the axial directions and set into the wire carrier body. The short, bored section is made crowned or bowed outward in the longitudinal directions of the conduit, and is provided with a low-friction material.
