The non-destructive test instrument is for examining mesh-shaped material. It is used to determine the mesh size and the nodes, as well as the elasticity of the meshes. It is used in the fishing industry. The mesh of the net is held horizontally in two measuring jaws. The jaws are pressed a gainst the sides of the mesh to measure the opening provided by the mesh. Loading with a larger force measures a larger mesh opening which is compared with standard values.
