Pad comprises an absorbant stretched body presenting a first and second principal surface, an impermeable covering applied to =1 of the principal surfaces and a perfume inside the pad. The migration of the perfume is inhibited by =1 narrow stretched element bearing the perfume, which extends in a generally longitudinal manner in the pad. Stretched body is prepd. by feeding the narrow element to an appts. for forming a pad comprising an air permeable endless band and an appts. for pneumatically depositing an absorbant material on the band. The element is suspended longitudinally above the band and the absorbant material is pneumatically deposited on the band and around the element. The pad is used for masking or reducing body odours, particularly during menstruation. Perfume migration is eliminated.
