The invention concerns a method and equipment for the continuous transfer particularly of tops/bottoms of packing containers, one after the other, to a carousel arrangement equipped with tools for fitting these tops/bottoms on the container bodies or containers. According to the invention, the equipment used for this purpose is a transfer wheel rotating synchronously with the tool carousel. A stationary transfer plate is placed in a transfer position between the transfer wheel and the carousel. This transfer plate will first raise the front end of each top/bottom up towards a plunger acting as a gripper device. This then carries the top/bottom onwards in the transport direction up onto a horizontal guide on the transfer plate, whereby the top/bottom is finally attached to the plunger for further transport and processing in one or several stations in the carousel.
