In order to provide for an easily rolling, simple wheel- mounted transport arrangement for bases which can be used for the transport of objects of small free height and restricted space beneath, e.g. load pallets, the arrangement has been fitted with an insert section 1b to be placed under the object, which insert can be raised and lowered and in the area close to its free end is supported partly by support wheels 8 in contact with the base, partly by a number of running wheels 21 which can be swung between a lying and an upright position, whereby the running wheels are so dimensioned that they are free from the base in their lying posiion and can be swung round to the upright position when the insert section's load-raising part is in the raised position. According to the invention, the running wheels 21 are supported by the said insert section in the area of the support wheels, and there is an open central cavity on one side at least of the running wheels, whereby the support wheels 8 and the mountings of the running wheels are so arranged that the support wheels can be accommodated, at least partly, in the running wheels in the raised position of the former and the lying position of the latter.
