In a process for mfg. blown glass articles contg. one or more internal bosses or dividing walls or similar internal elements of diverse shape and/or internal relief decoration, the vitreous mass is pre-shaped in a mould using a punch of suitable shape to obtain the internal boss or wall etc. in an embryonic state and the pre-formed blank thus obtd. is then blown by conventional techniques to produce the final article. The prefd. device for pre-shaping the blank consists of a mould with a punch containing slots and/or gaps which are the negative of the required shape of the blank and, by forcing the punch down in the mould, the contour is obtd. on the inner surface of the blank. Method is useful for mfr. of glass bowls or globes with internal countours and/or decoration.
