1492258 Isomerization of glucose IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 July 1975 [30 July 1974 30 Dec 1974] 33578/74 Heading C2S [Also in Division C3] Glucose is isomerized to fructose using glucose isomerase on an enzyme preparation containing glucose isomerase which has been produced by continuously cultivating a glucose isomerase producing micro-organism in a culture medium comprising a source of assimilable carbon and inorganic nutrients under conditions suitable for production and continuously recovering the enzyme or enzyme preparation such that the concentration of a nutrient source in the culture medium is maintained at a level such as to be limiting to growth due to a deficiency of the growth limiting nutrient. Both glucose and xylose are mentioned as sources of assimilable carbon. Preferred glucose to fructose isomerization conditions are 20-90‹ C., pH 5-9 using a phosphate buffer.
