ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTIONA thermostat for mounting on a wall, including abase having an aperture for mounting on the wall, a tempera-ture sensing means mounted on the base and adapted to movewith changes in temperatures, and switching means mounted onthe base and adapted to operate when the temperature sensingmeans reaches a predetermined temperature. Also included arerestraining means removably attached to the switching meansand adapted to restrain the switching means during shipmentof the thermostat from the factory to the place of installa-tion, the restraining means being positioned in the apertureto prevent mounting of the base to the wall without removalof the restraining means from the switching means.
