IRON CONTAINING FEEDING SUPPLEMENT FOR PIGLETS

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA method of feeding piglets during the first fourto six weeks of their life is disclosed. This method ensuresthe piglets have an optimal haemoglobin percentage which reducesanaemia. The method includes feeding an aqueous iron-salt solu-tion to ensure the supply of liquid and iron by ad libitumintake, and is characterized in that an approximately isotonicaqueous solution having a ph of 2.0 to 4.0 of an iron glutaminacid compound with a concentration of maximum 2% Fe utilizedin supplying each animal with 25-50 Mg Fe per diem from thefirst day of the piglet's life until and including its sixthweek of life.
