This invention relates to the technical field of producing crude oil from rice bran, and is concerned with a pretreatment process and apparatus for extracting crude oil from rice bran. It is an object of this invention to obtain crude oil having light color and excellent qualities from rice bran, and it is another object to prevent environmental pollution on the pretreatment for extraction. According to this pretreatment for extraction, rice bran is pressed in a screw extruder to rupture the cells in rice bran and at the same time mold them to a suitable shape for crude oil extraction.
