Arrangement for preloading the rolling bearings of a radial rolling-bearing unit

In this arrangement, the rolling elements of the radial rolling bearings (110, 114) of a radial rolling-bearing unit are, to reduce noise and extend their life, loaded in the axial direction against their tracks by a helical spring (107) which presses against the outer races of the bearings via outwardly flanged rims of sleeves (106, 108). The sleeves which guide the spring (107) within a bore (102) make possible a simple and economical arrangement which is particularly suitable for smaller electric motors. IMAGE
