This ski boot consists of a front foot and heel upper shell (10) carrying at the rear on each side ankle support plates (16,18). Fitted to the rear of the boot in an ankle cuff (24) which hinges on the rear of the boot. At the rear of the ankle cuff (24) is fitted an Achilles tendon plate (20). - The ankle cuff has an inner lining which with the outer forms a pocket into which slide the ankle support plates (14,18). - The boot is fastened by means of an instep rail carrying adjustable clasps (14). The instep rail is extended to carry a similar clasp (34) for the ankle cuff. This gives greater freedom of movement of the ankle within the boot.
