Multipurpose gas and vapour processing bottle for labs

An outer cylindrical vessel has near its base an opening which can be closed, and to which a variety of interchangeable outlet fittings can be attached. A double walled interchangeable insert with two unions, one to the outer and one to the inner cylinder is retained in the vessel by a ground glass joint or a plastic screw cap with PTFE sealing ring. The inner cylinder of the insert has a perforated rounded base and diverges at a point below the ground glass joint until it is aligned with the outer cylinder which has opening into the vessel at that level. The inner cylinder extends upwards and has an open end which can be closed with a threaded plastic blanking cap or used for a further gas feed with appropriate ring seals.
