The lead-detector system is for double-walled tanks storing liquefied gas, the inner vessel being contained inside an insulated outer one. In the intervening space there is a temperature measuring point neat the bottom, directly exposed to any liquefied gas escaping from the leaking inner vessel. - A supply of gas is provided at a higher temperature than the liquefied gas in the inner vessel (2), with a pipe (24) leading to the temperature measuring point.
