Alternative materials include an elastomer, portland or magnesium cement, sodium or hydrated calcium silicates, aluminium or other polyvalent metal phosphates, or asphaltum compounds. Included are fillers, continuous filaments, fibrous nets, or felted glass fibre bodies. Internal threads or sealing ring grooves are defined; the coupling may include bends, reducers, ells, tees or wyes. A method of moulding or winding the coupling is described (see Divisions B4-B5).
