The check out counter for a self-service store incorporates a cashier's desk and seat. There is a space for the full shopping basket to be placed, next to which there is a sloping surface extending the entire width of the checkout counter, and divided into pref. three compartments by means of partitions. - In front of the compartments and the sloping surface is a continuous conveyor belt. Between the conveyor belt and the compartments are two dividing plates. Parallel to the travelling plane of the conveyor belt is a to-and-fro moving pusher.
