An item of furniture has a pull-out clothes rail consisting of a grip section an elongated axial guide section which is guided in a receptacle produced by boring and part of a holder let in to a wall of the wardrobe etc. and fixed there and having a stop at its end to limit the extend of the pull out. - The guide section is formed as a guide fork with two guide prongs (10) positioned at a distance one above the other and made from a flat material placed with its edge upright. At least one of the prongs has an upper attachment as a stop.
