A s.l.r. camera with interchangeable film housings, interchangeable lenses and an interchangeable adaptor plate on the front of the camera body so that a wider range of interchangeable lenses may be used, including screw and bayonet fitting types. The camera also has an interchangeable shutter unit and facility to accept information from code markings on the lenses for exposure control modification. A printed circuit board accommodates the electronic control circuitry required and can be removed from the camera for manual working.
