PAL colour TV decoder - has store fed with received subcarrier and phase mirrored subcarrier on alternate lines

Colour signal sections which have the same position w.r.t. the start of a line in successive lines are read into an integrating storage element in sequence. The modulated colour carrier is written into the memory from where it is passed to synchronous demodulators. - The different phase of the colour carrier as a result of PAL reversals is taken into account before it is entered in the memory. The received modulated colour carrier is passed alternately line by line to the memory. The memory also receives the colour carrier that is the mirror image in terms of phase.
