Conveyor for fluid filled analysis vessels - has two rotary levers hinged either side of frame and base forming parallelogram crank linkage (CS 31.10.78)
The conveyor comprises an endless elevator(2, 1) with end drums(3) mounted on a reciprocating frame. To use a single drive for vertical and horizontal movement, two rotary levers(7, 8) are hinged(9, 10) either side of the frame and to the base(11) to form a crank linkage as a parallelogram which is connected to a second parallelogram(14, 15,16) at right angles. The balance beam(17) connected to base(11) is fixed to lever(7) and is powered by crank linkage(19, 20) off the drive shaft(18). Cam(25) on the conveyor drum is fitted with rim cams(26) working with pawl(27) on rotary lever(23) which in turn links up with the crank linkage(21, 22) at 150 deg. anticlockwise in relation to the balance beam linkage(19, 20). The rod(20) in the beam linkage is longer than the crank(19). The levers(7, 8) are interconnected by bracket arms(12, 13). The cam wheel has a backrun preventer(28) mounted on the conveyor frame.
