In an appts., for the wet dedusting of a mixt. of air and sugar dust, e.g. entrained by the air used in a sugar drier, of the known type in which the mixture is introduced through an inlet in a housing in which it is deflected by built-in fittings and is brought into countercurrent contact with a liq. sprayed into the housing, the fittings comprise (a) a body (I) of smaller cross section than the housing, mounted above the inlet with its discharge edge projecting outwardly thereover, (b) a guide ring sealed along its periphery to the housing, with at least its upper surface sloping from the outside inwards and from the top downwards and an inner discharge edge projecting inwardly above the discharge edge of (I), while the liq. can be sprayed directly onto these fittings from above.
