The transducers are designed as weighted interdigital structures with dummy prongs for as plane as possible wavefront generation. The dummy prongs are not directly connected to the adjacent prongs or to metallised edges; the prongs next to dummy prongs are interconnected by a conducting strip between the active prong and the corresponding dummy prong; or the dummy prongs are split is several parts; active prongs are, even in electrodes with phase reversal, connected to the current supplying edge metallisations only at evenly spaced points; active prongs in the overlapping areas of the opposite phase transducer zones are connected to connecting strips.
