Straw or other cellulose material, mixed with Bakelite (RTM) or polyesters, is compressed under high pressure and heat. The product can be mfd. with a density of 0.5-6.5 kg/l, is moisture-repellent, self-extinguishing, resistant to chemicals and rotting, and has high compressive strength. The straw is dried to a moisture content of 8-10%, separated from contaminants, and sprayed with the adhesive in continuous mixers, then extruded and pressed at 80 kg/cm2. The material is easier to transport, and is suitable for use in tropical or arctic regions due to its high insulation capacity, or regions subject to earthquakes.
