Synthetic rubber mixture useful in tyre mfr. - contg. alkyl phenol-amine resin to improve tackiness

Synthetic rubber mixts. contains (a) 1.5-3 pt. vulcanising agent; (b) 1-2.5 pt. organic accelerator; (c) 3-5 pt. vulcanisation activators; (d) 40-70 pt. fillers; (e) 1-2 pt. dispersants; (f) 5-20 pt. plasticiser, calc. on 100 pt. synthetic rubber, and (g) and 0.5-10 pt. calculated on 100 pt. synthetic rubber, of a phenol resin which is an alkylphenolamine resin obtd. by condensing aminomethylating agents with a mixt. of 70-97% monoalkylphenols, and 30-3% of 2:4- and 2:6-dialkylphenols (where the alkyl gps. contain 4-12C atoms) at 120-180 degrees C. The alkylphenolamine resin has formula (I): (where R = 4-12C alkyl; R1 = H, or substd. hydroxybenzyl; R11 = H, 4-12C alkyl or N-(dimethyl)methylamine; n = 0.1-5; m = 0-4; z = 0-0.5). It has a m. wt. of 5,000-2,000, a softening pt. of 50-130 degrees C and an N content of 0.4-5%. The rubber mixt. is highly tacky and the vulcanisates prepd. therefrom show a high degree of vulcanisation and good resistance to heat-ageing. The compsns. find use in e.g., rubber-type mfr.
