HV spark plug with ceramic insulator - has silver central electrode with sheath made of corrosion resistant nickel alloy

At least one electrode of the HV spark plug is a multiple material electrode with good heat conduction. The central electrode (4) is made of a sheathed wire whose sheath (22) is made of a corrosion resistant alloy, pref of a nickel alloy normally used for spark plugs. The core (23) of the central electrode is made of silver to give high conductivity. Both components are free at the electrode ignition end. At least one contact surface (3a) is provided at the other part of the electrode for heat transfer to the insulator (1).
