The low-lift truck is particularly of the fork type, having pivot-mounted rollers at the forward end of the forks. Additional rollers (28) are provided on the chassis, forming extra supports for the truck when those (15) at the forward fork ends are swung into the retracted position. The interval between the forks can be adjustable, and there can be swing arms (13) underneath them actuated by a linkage (27), so as to swing the rollers out as the forks are lifted. The chassis (2) can have a rigid boom (3), to whose end a lifting mechanism (4) with travel rollers (5) is secured.
