The safety trap is used for a safety device against armed robbery in banks. The pit locking mechanism is dripped remotely by electrical systems. The rubber opens the pit cover by its body weight and falls into it and he is jammed automatically at about his chest level. The pit cover is hinged and situated under the carpeting on the floor. The robber's fall continues down to the trap bottom plate which is connected by pivoting shank to the top trap plate. The robber's efforts to free himself result in tighter clamping of the trap mechanism both at his body level and at his feet.
