Tractor drawn attachment for aerating lawns - has hollow punches around circumference of drum for removing earth plugs which are directed into box

The attachment is drawn behind a tractor and aerates lawns by removing plugs of earth. It comprises a large dia. drum (12) rotating horizontally on pivots (14) mounted each side of a chassis (16), this latter being hitched (18) to the tractor. Retractable wheels are lowered for transportation (22, 24, 26). The drum has hollow cylindrical punches (34) around its circumference. Each punch pivots about its own axis to enter the ground vertically. As each earth plug is pushed into the centre of the drum, baffle plates guide them outwards to fall into a box (30) on the chassis. Deflector plates (28, 29) are also fitted above and below the drum.
