Pressure surge suppression unit for ink jet printer - has Tesla valve positioned where ink feed channel enters spray head

The damping unit esp. for an ink jet printing head suppresses the pressure surges arising between the ink supply chamber and the ink spray head. To achieve this an e.g. Tesla valve is located in the supply channel near its entry point into the spray head. The damping element has an inlet (49) and outlet channel (51) coupled together by a channel (53) angled at 45 deg., into whose periphery enters pairs of dead-end holes (55, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65) of which the one member of each pair (55, 59, 63) lies in the direction of flow from the inlet channel.
