Fine machining process, esp. shaving of gear wheels - with tool displaced tangentially relative to workpiece in plane perpendicular to common normal for smallest centre distance
The fine machining process esp. for shaving gear wheels is designed to eliminate pressure angle error and shearing of teeth while maintaining a high machining speed. The tool (T) is displaced angentially relative to the workpiece (W) in a chosen direction and ina plane which lies at right angles to the common normal for the smallest centre distance between the workpiece and tool. For the actual chip removal, the displacement in the tangential direction takes place at the same time as the downward movement (6). The direction of tangential movement is changed during the downward movement.
