Vertical tower for wind driven generator - has clamping studs running whole length of space within tower legs and leg sections joined by flanges which clamp joint rings
The tower of a wind driven generator consists of several legs (5) arranged in a circle. Each leg is assembled from a series of vertical sections. A ring (4) runs round the tower and joins all the legs at each vertical junction. A little above each vertical junction another ring (10) runs round all the legs and carries rails on which an impeller can travel round the twoer tobe brought into the wind. The vertical sections (5) are joined by flanges (6, 7) clamping the joining ring (4) between them. Vertical studs (13) run through the hollow of the legs (5) and clamp all the sections between the top and the bottom.
