The mining installation has a plough whose multiple baseplate rides under the conveyor on a slide. The slide extends to the face to form a web limit and connects at the waste to chain guide channel covers by means of arms hinged to these covers. The conveyor consists of a top and bottom runs (3, 4) straddling the baseplate (2), the top run being pivoted relative to the bottom run via a joint (6) at the waste side carried in a stop block (5). Hinged to the bottom run at the face is an integral ramp which rests on the floor and acts as web limiter. The bottom (8) of the top run (3) may extend beyond the sidewall structure (9) at the waste enough to form the chain guide (11) in conjunction with the block (5) and top cover (10).
