The assembly (2) has a dome welded to it and adapted for mounting a shock absorber, or a spring leg. A sheet metal part is stamped to form an aperture (16) and remains connected to the assembly on its side, facing the vehicle body. Its orthogonal bend (20) upwards forms a box shape (26) together with horizontal and vertical sections (22, 24) of the wheel assembly.
