Laser generating two different wavelength pulses - has beam deflecting element and second mirror forming secondary resonator

Thepulses are generated consecutively in time, and the laser has inside the resonator a polariser and a quality switch. A switchable polarisation rotating element (5) and a second polariser (6) with polarisation depending beam deflecting properties, and with a polarisation plane at 90 deg. to that of the polariser (4) are provided between the polariser (4) and the quality switch (3). A mirror (8) follows the polariser (6) in the deflected beam path, so that a secondary resonator is produced together with the laser resonator mirror (1a). Control systems are provided, which insert the quality switch (3) and the element (5) consecutively in selectable sequence in time.
