Automatic sack filling appts. - opens sacks fitted with flaps and places sacks on filling connection (DK 17.4.78)

The appts. is used for opening sacks (7) such as cement bags, fitted with flaps, and directing them towards a filling connection. It consists of a conveyor (8) which has a guide rail (12) along one edge. A pneumatic piston fitted with a friction roller moves the band by friction and three pairs of friction rollers are also disposed above the conveyor. The flap (6) is opened by two sloping rails (18, 21) one of which (21) is shorter than the other, which pivot about the flap. IT pivots about its central fold with the body of the sack. The bag is then turned from a horizontal to a vertical position by a second conveyor having a guide rail (24) shaped like a roof, the sacks being moved by friction rollers (26) and brought underneath the fitting connection.
