The device is intended for use in cable fittings. It has two clamping elements (1, 2) perpendicular to the axis of the cable to be clamped. They are movable relative to each other, and have recesses fiting the corrugation troughs of the cable sheath (10). The thickness of the clamping elements (1, 2) is smaller than the width of the trough. The two clamping elements (1, 2) surround the cable and are screwed (8) together, thus clamping the cable sheath (10).
