Transportable signpost base post insertion channel - has roller cage in widened top area for ease of insertion

The base unit for a notice or signpost is designed for ease of transport. It is prefabricated and comprises a concrete or similar material component, with a lengthways channel recess to hold the post. At its top end area (3), at least, the recess (2) has parallel walling surfaces or a cylindrical walling surface wider than the rest of it. This end area occupies approx. 5 - 15% of the whole recess length, and has a roller cage (4) fitted in it. There may be an outward opening hole (6) through this part, at the lowest position of the roller cage. This is simple in construction, and facilitates post fixture.
