The wall of a shipping container comprising a wooden panel that is coated on one or both sides with glass-fibre-reinforced plastics, is repaired by cutting-out the damaged part(s), opt. removing the coating(s) around the cut-out, inserting and fastening a fitting replacement piece and opt. recoating the bared surface(s). The replacement piece is smaller than the cut-out and temporarily secured in it whilst the resulting gap is filled with liq., setting resin, specifically a resinous melt-adhesive.
