The application is to gas insulated and hermetically sealed switchgear systems operating at HV. It is intended to simplify the construction and fitting of busbar earthing switches. The moving contacts (8, 9, 10) of the switch pass through openings in the encapsulation (1). A bellows arrangement (2, 3, 4) surrounds each contact and is sealed to the bus duct wall (1). The free end of each bellows is sealed (5, 6, 7) to the outer end of the contact rod. A gas tight system is thus created with the operating mechanism outside the ducting.
