The antenna control system uses a summation circuit (S) in which the received signal for each lobe is summed over a certain time slot selected by a switch (C). The signal is multipled (M) to provide an estimated value of interference and noise signals. The received signals (x) are divided by the estimated value (D1) and fed to a sequential detector (SD). A special signal (ao) is divided by the estimated value and fed to the detector. The two thresholds (A, B) derived from the false signal and non-detection probability determine the response of the detector. Estimation of the rms value of the interference signal is effected during a time period following positioning of the lobe is one direction and prior to the emission of the transmit pulse in this direction.
