Flexible roller used for processing of filtering material, leather, plastics or textile webs to produce the desired surface characteristics or effects is provided with flexure adjusting means. Roller has a hollow sleeve journalled by a central bearing on a stationary core and supported at least at its ends by means of bearings mounted in radially adjustable supports. In a modification the sleeve may be supported by two axially spaced bearings and the bearings may be axially adjustable to suit the desired radius of curvature of the sleeve.
